Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of The Framework, including our website, mobile app, audio course, subscriptions, and related services.

Last updated: May 7, 2026.

Operator

The Framework is operated by Marcel Salathe. Contact: support@theframeworkapp.com.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use The Framework. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

Accounts and access

You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, because The Framework uses email-based login codes and links. You may not share paid account access, resell access, or use the service in a way that interferes with others.

The service

The Framework includes lessons, explorations, audio playback, account settings, and subscription-gated access. Some course lessons unlock sequentially as you progress. Explorations may be offered as standalone audio content.

Free trial

The Framework may offer a limited free trial. The current trial allows up to five premium lessons or explorations to be started before a subscription is required. Free-trial rules, eligible content, and availability may change.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions provide access to premium lessons, explorations, and related features for the subscription period shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. Billing is processed by Stripe. Prices, billing periods, taxes, and available plans may change, but changes will not affect a current billing period unless required by law or clearly disclosed.

Cancellations and refunds

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your account page and Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund amounts already paid. Except where required by law or separately agreed, payments for completed billing periods are non-refundable.

If you delete your account, any active Stripe subscription linked to that account is canceled immediately. Account deletion does not refund previous payments.

If mandatory consumer law gives you a withdrawal or cancellation right for digital content, we may ask you to request immediate access and acknowledge that once access begins you may lose that right. Where that acknowledgement is required and given, premium access begins immediately after successful payment.

Content license

The Framework content, including audio, text, structure, branding, and interface, is owned by us or our licensors. During your permitted use of the service, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and listen to the content. You may not copy, redistribute, publish, sell, scrape, train models on, or make derivative works from the content unless we give written permission.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to bypass paywalls, authentication, rate limits, or media access controls.
  • Do not reverse engineer, overload, attack, or interfere with the service.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent activity.
  • Do not upload or submit content that infringes rights or contains malware.

Educational content

The Framework provides educational content about mental models and AI. It is not legal, medical, financial, investment, psychological, or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you apply ideas from the service.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, including free trials, features, content, plan terms, and availability. We aim to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for the service or other users, fail to pay required fees, or use the service unlawfully. You may stop using the service at any time.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data. It forms part of how we operate the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law, except where mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of the service after updated terms become effective means you accept the updated terms.
